MY thoughts on The Hobbit

First of all, can we take a moment to appreciate the hotness of Kili?
I mean seriously, it should be illegal to be that hot.

So as Owllightning has already mentioned I have seen The Hobbit. Twice actually; once in 2D and again in 3D with the 48 frames. (In less than 24 hours) Both are absolutely incredible and I'm planning to go a third time.

Don't you feel sorry for Legolas? 2012 was sort of the year of the bow and arrow and he was an absolute master with one (Like that time he took down that Mumakil, which is like a HUGE Elephant, all by himself, including all the warriors on it)

I hate how we have to wait such a long time for part 2, I might go crazy.

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

P.S. (Is it weird I can name all the dwarves off by heart?
Thorin, Fili, Kili, Oin, Gloin, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Dwalin, Balin, Dori, Nori and Ori)

Merry Christmas!!!

The wait is finally over, it's Christmas!

I woke up to a new Factorie bag from Santa and lots more presents from family.

Speaking of Santa, I found this really kwl, Chrismassy website, that's sure to keep you entertained for a bit. Check it out! (There's more than just a Santa tracker!)

http://www.google.com/santatracker/

Also, did you know that Santa doesn't actually live in the North Pole, but in Rovaniemi, Lapland, in Finland! You can meet Santa Claus and cross the magical Arctic Circle every day at the Santa Claus Village in Lapland. Send friends and relatives greetings from the Santa Claus Main Post Office with the unique Arctic Circle postmark, shop in the numerous giftware stores and workshops and enjoy lifetime experiences with many different programmes!
I haven't been there, but Rosyglasses and I would sure like to go while travelling in the future! Here's their website for more info:

Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas once again and a happy New year!
From all of us here at Our Thoughts and More! (aka Rosyglasses and I)

Well, I can certainly confirm that the world did NOT end on the 21st of December at 11:11 UTC 2012 as the Mayans so predicted! So for now, please enjoy this cartoon Rosyglasses emailed me :)

The Hobbit

Last week I went to see The Hobbit.

Before that fateful Tuesday I wasn't much of a Lord of the Rings fan, let alone a Hobbit one. But the movie seriously changed me.

It was intense, epic, gripping, thrilling, the SFX, costuming and makeup was phenomenal, and I'm EXTREMELY jealous of those peeps who got to see it in 3D. Talking to you, Rosy *cough cough*
If you're like me before, and you're not a huge LOTR or Hobbit fan, here's the basic plot of the Hobbit (or rather how I interpreted it).

Bilbo Baggins is a middle-aged, good natured hobbit who would never go looking for an adventure or anything dangerous. But on one fine morning a great wizard known as Gandalf the Grey greets him and invites him to go on an adventure. Bilbo refuses, but that evening he gets an unexpected visit from a group of dwarves led by the great Thorin Oakenshield. Gandalf is also there. The dwarves need Bilbo's help to rob Smaug, the giant dragon who once destroyed the dwarves kingdom of Erebor and is now living there, and no-one can get in.

The movie was only the first 6 chapters apparently, so I do not know what happens after this group of dwarves, a wizard, and a hobbit reach the end of their long and treacherous journey...

All in all it was a fantastic movie, and I am now on an endeavour to read all the books! Also, please correct me if I got anything wrong or missed any important details in the plot. Thank you ;)

Connecticut shooting

(Sorry it's a tad belated but...)

We would just like to say that our thoughts and more go out to those affected by the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary last week. All of you are in our prayers, including the shooter (Adam Lanza) and his family. We would like to honour the brave souls who put their lives on the line to protect others, the teachers who kept their students calm and quiet throughout the attack, the police and the emergency services who did all they could and more to help, and last but not least, the children who survived this tragic event for being so brave. We cannot imagine the kind of pain you are going through right now but we know that you will be able to get through this, with the support of the kind people over there and the prayers from everyone around the world.

May those who died Rest In Peace.

Pak N Save Christmas ad ;)

I was watching TV again today (it's ok, I'm on holiday!), and I saw this ad for Pak N Save starring my little friend; the stick man...

After seeing this, my over-thinking mind came up with the thought - what was he wearing before he put the yellow jumper on?????? *GASP!* ('o')
I don't want to be all innapropriate on here, so I'm just going to say he was wearing a black singlet and shorts. Sound good??

Elounor

Just a warning before you read this post, I am a complete Directioner.

Lots of people on Tumblr have been really rude to Eleanor and Louis concerning this photo of them in New York recently.
They say that they both look unhappy and completely fake, but if you look at Eleanor she's looking straight at the camera, it's obvious she's uncomfortable with it around. She's also reaching for Louis' hand, searching for some comfort with the craziness.
Louis seems more relaxed and something must have caught his attention.
I don't understand why there is a need to hate on them. If they aren't a real couple so be it, but in my eyes they are and if in your eyes they aren't keep it to yourself, no one likes haters and it definitely won't make Louis love you.

The December season

It's the 3rd day of the last month of the year already!
This year has gone really fast - but I guess people say that about every year... (-_-)
Hope you're all getting your prezzies and/or ready and organized, coz we all know how hard last minute Xmas shopping is; The Stress!!

Speaking of stress, Rosyglasses would like to apologize for not posting a lot; she's got a lot of homework! She promises to post more over the holidays (I'm sure she'll have more to say then, anyway) :P

Back to the topic of Xmas prezzies.
Alot of you probably have a heap of presents to give; family, friends, secret Santa, that old lady across the road who's always smiling at you... etc.
Well I know it sounds cliche, but if you're having trouble finding the perfect gift, or you just can't organize yourself, I've got some tips for you! {^.^}

1. Know the person you're getting the gift for.

Whether it's for your BFF or that lady across the street, a gift that will have no meaning to them is a waste. Get them something that they will value and actually use. If you don't know what they like or want, simply get to know them. If that doesn't work, skip to Plan B. My Plan B is attempting to ask what they want during a casual conversation. For example, today I tried to ask the person I'm a secret Santa for what they would like:

Me: I hope my secret Santa knows me and gets a good present.
Friend: Same....
Me: What would your ideal present be?
Friend: Definitely something to do with Russian dolls. I love them!
Me: Cool! I love iPods, hehe. (Hey, there's a possibility I could get one!)

2. It's the thought that counts.

Now that you've found out what they like or want, it's time to get their present. If it so happens that your giftee (I'm gonna start calling them that) is like me, and said they want something expensive like an iPod, don't fret! Put a creative twist on their wish!
My wise young homeroom teacher said to us, "You don't have to go out and buy a gift, just make or bake something." (She's awesomely old-school like that).
If they want an iPod, make them an ipod! Last year someone made me a plush iPod nano out of felt and other materials, and I'd say the time and effort she put in just to make it is a gift in itself.
So what I'm trying to say is, it's the thougth that counts - hence the name of this tip.

3. Prioritize, prioritise, prioritize!

You probably want to get gifts for every single person who's important to you, but remember you don't want to spend all your money and/or spare time buying and/or making Xmas prezzies. Make a list of all your giftees, and mark the top 10 people you're definitely getting a gift for (as oppose to just a card). Hopefully your top ten includes your immediate family, BFFs, secret Santa giftee... and not the lady across the street (unless you're desperate!).

Well, those would be my 3 main tips on this topic, and I also don't want this post to drag on with boring tips so... Merry December for now!

Love these hairstyles

Looking for interesting ways to do up your hair - or someone elses?
Check out www.princesshairstyles.com !!!

One of my favourite hairstyles is the waterfall braid. Owllightning tries to do the style on my hair sometimes, but my tripolar hair never agrees with the pretty style. Watch the vid below to see how to do a waterfall braid :D

There are more really cute variations of this hairstyle on www.princesshairstyles.com

What did he say?

I was watching X Factor USA the other night, and I decided to make this picture:

Good Luck Charlie

Season 1 theme song ending picture

I'm watching Good Luck Charlie on Disney Channel right now, and thought I'd review it on here!

I love the whole concept of the show
It appeals to every member of the family, and it's about an every day middle class family with 'normal people' issues. It's not like other shows that are about people wanting to be famous, or ordinary kids building extraordinary invention. (Not that those shows aren't really kwl too!!)

The show makes me laugh
The jokes are genuinely funny -

Amy Duncan: I remember my first crush.
Gabe Duncan: Was it dad?
Amy Duncan: [Sarcastically] Sure, why not?
Gabe Duncan: So, just ask her stuff and listen to the answer? That sounds easy!
Amy Duncan: Sure! Relationships are a piece of cake. That's why married people are always so happy.
Gabe Duncan: Did dad ever get nervous talking to you?
Amy Duncan: When your dad and I started dating, we didn't do a lot of talking. Mostly we just...
Gabe Duncan: Just what?
Amy Duncan: [pause] Played checkers. Lots and lots of checkers.

Well, I found that pretty funny coz I have a strange sense of humour. There are lots of other jokes that you, yourself have probably laughed your heads off at too. Watch the show on Disney Channel if you want to hear more!

I love their house!
I'm quite interested in interior design and I think their house is the epitome of the perfect family home. I love Teddy Duncan's room, especially bed; it's elevated and just looks really kwl! Check out this website for someone else's full review on their house:

http://hookedonhouses.net/2011/05/02/the-duncans-denver-home-on-disneys-good-luck-charlie/

Well that's all I can think of right now! (^.^) I'm sure there are many other reasons why I love 'Good Luck Charlie,' buried somewhere deep inside my mind, so I'll comment if I think of anymore :)

Welcome!

Hiiiiyyaaa and welcome to 'Our Thoughts and More!'
We've been expecting you... ('o')

This blog was inspired by a book that Rosyglasses and I (Owllightning) read; Revived by Cat Patrick. The main character Daisy and her BFF Megan have a blog called 'Anything Autopsy,' where they post weekly about anything and everything they want! We thought that sounded like a brilliam idea, so we're going to try and do that ourselves! =D

Hope you enjoy the blog and joyful reading!
